Lets get Wushu in the Olympics
In November time we will be running a National
Kung Fu and Sanshou competition. Our aim is to bring awareness to Chinese
martial arts and help to promote its place in the Olympics.
This competition will be held to a
professional standard with renowned judges and will be held in the Southampton
area, there will be many categories to choose from including traditional to
modern wushu forms, weapons, tai chi and San Shou, Chinese kickboxing.
We are in the current process of
constructing a website for this campaign where you will be able to sign our petition
and show your support. On the day we aim to get as many signatures and possible
and many competitors demonstrating their various skills and natural ability.
If we can show that UK has a flourishing community
of martial arts practitioners and groups dedicated to this sport then we may
stand a chance for Wushu to be elected as a sport for the Olympics.
We will keep to posted regarding more
information and how you can apply soon.
